I just returned from 2 weeks in Europe with this backpack! I’m 5’2″ and exceptionally weak, and I was able to run the length of LGW to catch a connecting flight with this baby strapped to my back. It slid easily under the seat in front of me (stuck out a bit, but no flight attendants seemed to care) as well as in the overhead bin. Airlines flown – British Airways, Vueling, Lufthansa, Condor. Also, the top front pocket was perfect for easy access to liquids bag and headphones. I was very careless with the main compartment zipper and it got caught a few times but was easily freed, never stuck– really appreciated that. Zippers seem to be high quality to endure all the tugging.Below is what I packed in case you’re interested. I had room leftover for small souvenirs and other purchases.[In a 11.8 x 10.6 x 4.7 inch packing cube]1 light jacket3 dresses2 pairs of sandals4 t-shirts2 tank topsswimsuit4 pairs socksbra, underweartoiletriesmakeup[In a 11.8 x 7.9 x 4.7 inch packing cube]phone chargersunglassesglassessome other miscellaneous things (tissue packs, etc.)

This is a great pack. The best thing you can say about a backpack is “I forgot I was wearing it.” Literally … as I was thinking about my review after a four day, 30 mile trek down 2000′ to Havasupai Falls, AZ. The stiff back, but with great padded straps was very comfortable. An inside envelope for a camelback bladder worked fine, but an exit hole for the water hose would be great. Don’t get the lower zipper “pocket” which was Center compartment access only. The top, small zipper pocket is too small to access easily. But, great looking, great fabric, awesome color, unbeatable price, and Havasupai tested. Fellow hikers who rented drab packs from REI were very envious.

I bought this backpack for a backpacking trip to Zion and it was just what I needed! It fit everything i wanted and it was comfortable for me I’m a 5’8 125lbs man and it was very good fit, it unfortunately didn’t pack my big sleeping bag because it was to bulky (won’t be using this backpack for my Alaskan trip) it provides a rain cover which came in handy when I walked through a waterfall and my bag wasn’t soaked!! I also use it for my photography gear which fits everything i want and still has space in it!!!
