So, I did like this product – it is super light, fairly small, comes with a carrying case, and I like that it conceals the butane canister and makes it feel more like a little burner than just a camping stove. We used this in the wind and rain and the flames almost always stayed on. Water boiled in a decent amount of time if the pot was left covered.HOWEVER, this guy got so hot it melted itself…yes, the metal plate where the burners are held melted and bubbled up. I feel like the metal where the fire comes out should be able to withstand the heat that the product produces, but what do I know.At least it was cheap…get what you pay for!

I was initially disappointed when I received this, because the stove itself was bent (along the edge beside the can) so I couldn’t close the lid over the butane can properly. Also, the plastic carrying case is cracked. So that’s a bummer. But I was in the middle of a power outage and needed to use it right away. I was able to bend the metal back enough to close the lid, and I duct-taped the cracked case. By the time my power came back on a few days later I decided I wouldn’t bother returning it. I’m not taking stars off since I did have the option to return it, however I would note that the metal is super thin and light so it’s not very durable. This is definitely not a heavy duty item by any means. On the positive side of that, being lightweight makes it easy to carry and travel with.I also ordered the Gas One brand butane cans and got the 4-pack. I only plan to use this during power outages as I live in the woods and lose power several times a year, often for a week or two at a time. I poured 2 mugs of water into a metal coffee pot and it came to a full boil in just under 4 1/2 minutes; I consider that fast. The butane cans are extremely easy to put in the stove, for some reason the directions made it sound tricky but it’s not, you just stick the can in with the arrow facing up and it snaps into place. The ignition option worked instantly and the flame is strong! I almost bought an 8,000 BTU brand but decided on this because it was a few bucks cheaper. I don’t think I’m missing a thing, this throws plenty of heat to boil water and cook. This is meant for the outdoors technically, although hotels often use these for table-side cooking. Just be mindful to use it in a well ventilated space so carbon monoxide won’t be an issue. Also, be careful of the surface you put it on as the bottom is wide open and the unit does get hot from use.
